BitBouncer.io
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-08-22
This Privacy Policy explains how BitBouncer collects, uses and protects information when you play BitBouncer or use BitBouncer.io. BitBouncer is an arcade game with local play, online 1v1 rooms and a Hall of Fame leaderboard.
Information We Collect
- Nickname: when you submit a leaderboard score or play an online duel, BitBouncer may process the nickname you choose. Nicknames are limited and sanitized, but you should not include personal information in them.
- Reply email: if you submit the privacy request form and choose to provide an email address, we use it only to respond to that request.
- Beta tester signup information: if you join the Android beta tester list, we collect the email address you provide and any optional name, device details or message you include.
- Privacy-preserving landing analytics: on BitBouncer.io we count only landing page views, gameplay preview plays and successful beta signup submissions. Each event is stored only as a total for the UTC day and the allowed page path.
- Landing analytics do not use cookies, local storage, session storage, fingerprinting, user or session identifiers, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics. We do not store IP addresses, user agents or referrers with these events.
- Your browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected. If either signal opts out, the landing page does not send analytics events.
- Gameplay data: scores, difficulty mode, match state, room codes and similar gameplay information are used to run leaderboards and real-time 1v1 matches.
- Network and security data: our backend may process your IP address in memory and store a hashed version where needed for abuse prevention, score integrity and socket/session protection.
- Diagnostics: if crash reporting is enabled in the production build, technical diagnostics such as app version, device/browser information and error details may be sent to Sentry so we can fix crashes. We do not intentionally send email addresses or raw IP addresses in those events.
- Local device data: settings, audio preferences, high scores and temporary session state may be stored locally on your device to keep the game working between sessions.
How We Use Information
- To provide the game, online duels, room joining, score submission and Hall of Fame leaderboard features.
- To protect the service from abuse, fake scores and unreliable multiplayer sessions.
- To manage Android beta tester invitations and understand which devices are being tested.
- To understand, only through aggregate daily totals, whether visitors view the landing page, play the gameplay preview and successfully submit a beta request.
- To diagnose crashes, improve performance and maintain game reliability.
- To remember local preferences such as sound, haptics and visual settings.
Sharing
- We do not sell personal data and we do not use advertising identifiers.
- Landing analytics are operated by BitBouncer without third-party analytics providers and contain no personal or device identifiers.
- Leaderboard entries may display your chosen nickname, score, difficulty mode and submission date publicly.
- Crash diagnostics may be processed by Sentry if diagnostics are enabled. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process data only as needed to operate BitBouncer.
Security, Retention and Deletion
- Data sent to the production service is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.
- Online room/session data is temporary and expires when rooms close or after inactivity.
- Landing analytics are retained for no more than 90 days. Older UTC daily totals are automatically purged whenever an event is recorded or analytics are consulted.
- Leaderboard entries are retained so the Hall of Fame can work. You can request deletion of leaderboard entries associated with your nickname by contacting us.
- Diagnostic data, if enabled, is retained according to the crash-reporting provider settings and used only for reliability and debugging.
Children
- BitBouncer is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will review and delete it where appropriate.
Contact
- For privacy questions, data deletion requests or support, use the privacy request form on this page. Include your nickname and any relevant score details if you are requesting deletion of a leaderboard entry.
Privacy Request Form
Use this form to request deletion, access, or help with privacy questions. The destination address is handled on the server and is not exposed on this page.
